Laura Cox
Mental Health Counselor Associate
My name is Laura, and I am a Mental Health Counselor Associate based in the Tri-Cities region of Washington. I obtained my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. I am passionate about providing support to a diverse population of clients through various modalities designed to address different mental health conditions. As your counselor, I will work collaboratively with you to support your goals. Counseling is a meaningful step on the journey toward balance and well-being. While this path can sometimes be challenging it also offers opportunities for growth and healing. My approach is tailored to your individual needs, taking into account the origin of your concerns, your personality, and the resources available to you. My work is informed by Cognitive, Behavioral, Somatic and Eclectictherapeutic models.
I provide therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families who are navigating various challenges, including trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief, self-regulation issues, behavioral health concerns, anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, and substance use disorders. I have received training in several therapeutic modalities, with a particular focus on certified sex therapy (CSTIP) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as foundational support for PTSD and complex trauma.
In addition to my professional pursuits, I am an enthusiastic angler, particularly engaged in tournament fishing for walleye. I frequent the picturesque Columbia and Snake rivers at least once a week. My hobbies also include painting and gardening. Throughout my life, I have been fortunate to work with numerous children, and I anticipate many more enriching experiences in the future.
