There comes a time when we struggle, we hurt and we fall. Perhaps you have turned to a friend or a family member for help and continue feeling this pain. My goal for therapy is to offer support, space for growth and hope as we face these challenges before us.
My name is Ismael but most people just call me “Izzy”. I earned my M.A in community counseling from Washington State University, “Go Cougs!” I am a licensed mental health counselor serving a wide range of populations.
I have primarily worked in community, inpatient and school settings with children, teenagers, adults, and families to treat anxiety, trauma, and depression. I specialize in helping individuals and families grow through these ordeals. As a therapist, I primarily utilize an open and collaborative approach to assist clients in meeting their individual goals. I practice Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to assist my clients. I bring in to play strengths-based and solution-focused methods in addition to providing education to help with emotional regulation and distress tolerance. My office is comfortable and in style to reflect my belief that therapy should be open, non-threatening and that the relationship between myself and my clients is the most important base for my work.
